A photovoltaic system connected to low-voltage power lines may be subject to overvoltage in various networks.
- AC power supply (AC): surge protection devices are necessary, and in most cases are required to be installed at the output of a PE inverter that is connected to the AC network.
- Direct current network (DC): surge protection devices are necessary, and in most cases are required to be installed at the input of the FE inverter or the input of the FE modules.
- Communication (low-voltage) network: if the PV inverter is connected to signal transmission lines (sensors, monitoring), then we strongly recommend installing surge protection devices on these lines.
